Overview

Our client is seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer (Data Center focus) to join their team in Portland, Oregon or Seattle, Washington. This role delivers value across both pre-sales design and post-sales implementation, partnering closely with clients to solve complex infrastructure challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with sales teams to develop winning technical strategies

  • Perform pre-sales engineering to design scalable, customer-aligned solutions

  • Build Bills of Materials (BoM), diagrams, and Statements of Work (SoW)

  • Communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Lead post-sales implementation of designed solutions

  • Produce post-implementation documentation

  • Deliver end-user systems administration training on deployed solutions

  • Develop strategic relationships with key manufacturer partner SEs

Key Expectations

  • Understand and address customer technical challenges with business-aligned solutions

  • Communicate effectively across a wide range of technologies

  • Maintain and expand technical certifications

  • Actively participate in team calls, meetings, and events

Core Technologies

  • Converged & Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI)

  • Storage: Block, File & Object

  • Connectivity: Fibre Channel, iSCSI

  • Virtualization:

    • Design, deploy and maintenance

      • vSphere

      • Hyper-V

    • Virtual network connectivity

  • Cloud: Azure, AWS, GCP (working knowledge preferred)

  • Data Protection: Veeam, Cohesity, Rubrik

  • Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity

  • Microsoft Stack (baseline): Active Directory, Windows Server, DHCP, DNS, PKI

  • Networking Fundamentals: VLANs, VPNs, firewalls

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of relevant experience preferred

  • Ability to work independently and navigate ambiguity

  • Experience managing multiple client projects simultaneously

  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills

  • Excellent time management and communication skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Willingness to travel 25–50% based on client needs

Estimated base salary range: $100,000 – $175,000 annually
